Privacy and cookies

PinpointProof ("we", "us") runs pinpointproof.com. This page explains what personal data we collect when you use the site or contact us, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect very little, we ask before setting any analytics cookie, and we never sell or share your data for advertising.
Who we are
PinpointProof is based in the United Kingdom, operating from Northern Ireland. We are the data controller for the personal data described on this page. You can reach us at hello@pinpointproof.com.
What we collect, and why
Enquiries by email. If you email us, we receive your name, email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it to reply and, where relevant, to follow up about our services. Our lawful basis is legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
Bookings. The "Book a walkthrough" button takes you to a Google appointment scheduling page. If you book, Google shares the details you enter (name, email, chosen time) with us so the meeting can happen. Google processes that booking under its own privacy policy. We use the details only to hold the meeting and follow up on it.
Analytics, only with your consent. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they read. It runs only if you choose "Allow analytics" on the cookie notice. If you decline, or simply ignore the notice, no analytics runs and no analytics cookie is set. Analytics data is aggregated; we do not use it to identify individuals, and we do not use it for advertising.
The AI readiness check. The readiness check runs entirely in your browser: your answers are not sent anywhere unless you choose to request the emailed report. If you do, we receive your answers, your result and the email address you provide (via our form provider, FormSubmit), and we use them only to send your report and follow up once about it. No newsletter, no marketing list.
Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard web server logs (IP address, pages requested, time of request) for security and capacity purposes, as almost every website's host does. These are retained for a short period and are not used to profile visitors.
Fonts. The site loads the Instrument Sans typeface from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests the font files from Google's servers and Google receives your IP address as part of serving that request.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies at all unless you consent to analytics. If you do consent, these are set:

Your consent choice itself is stored in your browser's local storage (not a cookie sent to any server) so we do not ask you on every visit. You can change your mind at any time:
Who we share data with
We use a small number of service providers to run the site and the business: our web hosting provider, Google (appointment scheduling, fonts, and analytics where you have consented), and our email provider. Each processes data on our instructions or under its own controller obligations. We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to train AI models.
How long we keep things
Enquiry and booking correspondence is kept for as long as we have an active conversation or business relationship with you, and then for a reasonable period afterwards for record keeping. Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for 14 months and then deleted automatically.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to our processing of it, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email hello@pinpointproof.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to resolve it first.
Changes to this page
If we change how the site handles personal data, for example by adding a contact form or new analytics, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change goes live.
